Elmer is coming to Curtis Banks Ipswich

From 15 June to 7 September, Ipswich is hosting Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk 2019 – an art trail featuring 55 individually designed elephants based on the much adored children’s character, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. We are delighted to share further details about the elephant our Ipswich office is sponsoring on the trail.

Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk 2019 is a Wild in Art event in support of St Elizabeth Hospice. At the end of the Parade, each elephant will be auctioned to raise valuable funds for St Elizabeth Hospice – who our Ipswich office is proudly supporting as its 2019 Charity of the Year. 2019 also marks the 30th anniversary of both St Elizabeth Hospice and Elmer.

Specific design details about all elephants have to be kept secret until the start of the parade, but we are thrilled to have chosen Liverpool-based artist David Graham’s design of ‘Woolly’ for our Elmer in the trail. Woolly is an eye-catching, vibrant concept which will resonate with St Elizabeth Hospice and bring colour to the trail. A sneak preview is below!

David has designed several statues for various art trails across the country – David created the memorable ‘Trotters Van’ for Ipswich’s 2016 Pigs Gone Wild trail. David based his design of our Woolly on Ipswich Museum’s life-sized woolly mammoth model ‘Wool.i.am’.

Jane Ridgley, Curtis Banks Chief Operating Officer, commented on our Ipswich office’s involvement in Elmer’s Big Parade 2019:

“Curtis Banks is delighted to be part of Elmer’s Big Parade. St Elizabeth Hospice’s care and support has been invaluable to the families of some of our staff, and we’re determined to make our involvement a real success to help benefit such a worthwhile cause.”
